How much experience do you have with Persistent Concussion Symptoms?
I’ve been working with patients with Persistent Concussion Symptoms for over five years, providing detailed assessments and tailored therapy to patients struggling with persistent symptoms. My initial training was done through Complete Concussion Management, a world leading program developing and implementing training on Concussion and Persistent Concussion symptoms, and was one of the first practitioners in the UK to offer in-depth assessment and treatment.
Can you rehab a concussion?
Persistent Concussion Symptoms are a result of dysfunction across one or more systems, all of which are responsive to rehab and physiotherapy. The key areas for assessment and treatment are the Vestibular system, the Ocular Motor system and the Cervical Spine. Addressing Autonomic Nervous System dysfunction and early return to exercise are also key components
What does treatment involve?
Treatment includes discussion and education around symptom drivers, exercise therapy tailored to the patient, return to cardiovascular and strength training as well as hands-on treatment. How we structure the program depends on individual symptom load, goals and the identified drivers.
